Alex's latest documentary, The Last Burma Star, which premiered in Parliament, saw him team up with explorer Levison Wood to race against time to recognise surviving veterans of the Second World War. This work—which focused on the largely forgotten Burma Campaign—required extensive travel through complex areas like Northeast India to meet surviving soldiers and deliver long-overdue medals.

Alex remains well-known for his ambitious The Last Overland expedition, where he and his team successfully drove a 1955 Land Rover 21,000km from Singapore to London.
The resulting four-part documentary series and accompanying bestselling book chronicled the journey through 23 countries in 111 days. The expedition required navigating complex logistical and political hurdles, demonstrating the necessity of robust planning when crossing continents—a skill set he now leverages in his advisory role.
